Its like the Garden of Eden, with it very diverse flora and fauna, topography and varied climatic conditions within a 30km radius. A must see place along with the other nature destinations I mentioned. There are many other active craters (less known but spectacular in their own way) in Tanzania that would be worthwhile visiting, and capturing digitally.Go see my Picasa website for photos from my Africa trip, and you will realize why I am so enthusiastically recommending this as a trip of a lifetime.Srinivas Garudacharhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10783794116889856189noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5256596683238310764.post-51175001488197712772013-07-10T19:57:12.427-07:002013-07-10T19:57:12.427-07:00Thanks Nimmi aunty! I thought I'd try to post them on my blog instead of just an album on facebook...but I ended up spending a lot of time on the writing. I'm glad you enjoyed them, coz then my time was well spent :-) Just looked up Ngorongoro on the web.....It's the largest intact and unflooded crater in the world! I must read more on it.....Thanks for your comment.Nandini Ramakrishnahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10963984652126377286noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5256596683238310764.post-13563467876820444282013-07-10T01:10:00.834-07:002013-07-10T01:10:00.834-07:00I enjoy reading your chronicles so much Nandu =) T...I enjoy reading your chronicles so much Nandu =) This one is so very inspiring and reveals the more interesting side of US of A! I have not as yet set foot on this part of the continent! Island has hot springs too but there people can actually soak and bathe! On the island of Greneda there was this tiny hot spring up on the mountainous area...sulphur springs and people went there to soak and cure their skin problems !
Keep the good work kiddo.
All the best
NimmiNirmala B-Ahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13532753393339945004noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5256596683238310764.post-23067096139246572252013-07-10T00:28:21.115-07:002013-07-10T00:28:21.115-07:00Nandu- I loved your commentary and photographs. Th...Nandu- I loved your commentary and photographs. These took me back 10 yrs, rekindling memories of my very enjoyable visit. With your interests and given your photographic talent, you should plan a visit to the calderas in Tanzania... there are many in that region, incl Ngorongoro which I would strongly recommend you to visit, besides trips to nearby Serengeti, Lake Victoria, L Manyara (site of Hatari!), Mt Kiliminjaro/ Mt Meru.
cheers
ChandruSrinivas Garudacharhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10783794116889856189noreply@blogger.com
